Megève Training Camps 2012
Description: Mountain Training Camp Inclusive of The Time Megeve Challenge
Where: Megeve, France
Date: 5th-12th June
Cost: £849 Not Including flights
The chocolate-box style alpine village of Megève, provides the perfect launch pad for the new addition to Elite Cycling’s 2012 training camp schedule. We are teaming up with the Chalet d’Antoine; a 3 star hotel specially equipped to cater for the needs of cyclists and in an area rich in famous climbs from the Tour.
The coaching programme will draw on the extensive expertise of Paul Mill and feature daily sessions including on the road coaching, evening reflective discussions and planning for the next day’s session. We will also be using video analysis, giving a great opportunity to rectify descending faults and explain correct technique. This will make your experience one that will not only benefit you in the short term but allow you to go away with a whole new understanding of training and technical methodology.
This programme will be supported by a cyclist tailored hospitality package including athlete specific cuisine, fully supported riding, on site massage service, bike tech room, on site mechanic, and laundry service.
For those of you not familiar with Megève or looking to get your bearings, this “très chic” village is situated in the heart of the Mont Blanc valley, an hour from Geneva and in cycle speak lies between the Cormet de Roseland to the East, Col de la Madeleine to the South, Col des Aravis and Colombiere to the West and the Ramaz and Joux Plane to the North.
The village was originally developed as a ski resort at the beginning of the 20th century when the Rothschild family chose to spend their winter vacations there after becoming disenchanted with the Swiss resort of St. Moritz. However it is much more than a winter playground these days and boasts a sports centre with 50m outdoor and 25m indoor pools, gym, ice rink, climbing wall, tennis courts, a library and conference facilities. The town is also embracing the potential of cycling and other summer activities with events such as the Time Megève Sportive, Haute Route and MB Race growing in size and popularity each year.
Whether you are looking to take your riding to the next level, would like to gain experience riding in the mountains or have planned to ride one of the Mountainous sportives this year, such as the Etape or the Marmotte, this week will get you closer to achieving your goals with a blend of first class coaching, challenging terrain and outstanding service.
As part of this package we will also be pre-booking 20 places at the Time Megève, which is an increasingly popular sportive featuring short, middle and long courses, taking in the Col des Aravis, Col de Colombiere, Col de Croix Fry and Col de Saisies.
We will be opening up our booking service with our partners Trips4fitness very shortly so book early to ensure you don’t miss o
